On December 9, 1942, Dick Butkus was born. He was a 1st round draft choice of the Bears in 1965. He played linebacker for the Bears from 1965 through 1973. He played in eight Pro Bowls. He was All-Pro eight times. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year twice. He made the NFL 1960s All-Decade team. He made the NFL 1970s All-Decade team. He made the NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time team. He is a Pro Football Hall of Famer. His Bears’ number, 51, is retired.
On December 10, 1933, Larry Morris was born. He played linebacker for the Bears from 1959 through 1965. He played on the Bears’ 1963 championship team. He was the Most Valuable Player of the 1963 championship game. He made the NFL 1960s All-Decade team.
